About

ViolinistMusic has always been central to my life, has given me wonderful performance experiences and has brought many wonderful people into my life - including my trumpeter husband!I perform regularly as a first violinist with the Gloucestershire Symphony Orchestra, the Cheltenham Philharmonic Orchestra and I also enjoy giving solo performances. I am always working on something and have recently performed the beautiful Franck Violin Sonata. I also have an interest in playing little-known music by female composers. During my university degree, I won a string scholarship and was awarded a graduation award for outstanding musicianship. I have also achieved the Associate and Licentiate performance diplomas with Trinity College London.

Pianist
I teach the piano on my beautiful Kemble piano at home. Apart from my violins, it is my most treasured possession. As well as accompanying my violin pupils, I have also played piano for various school shows and special services.

TeacherI am an experienced whole class teacher, small group and 1:1 teacher and have run a variety of musical ensembles, including string groups, steel pans and classroom jazz. I offer 1:1 violin and tuition to children and adults. I currently lead a local school orchestra on a freelance basis. Also a pianist, I offer some spaces for piano tuition. As well as teaching privately, I offer tuition in several local primary and secondary schools. What parents say"I wanted to express my sincere gratitude for your guidance and support this year. Your dedication and hard work have made a significant impact on his learning and development.""Thank you for being such an amazing teacher!"

Orchestral PerformerI perform regularly with Gloucestershire Symphony Orchestra and Cheltenham Philharmonic and am available as an 'extra' for other ensembles.

Performance coachAs a qualified life-coach, I use a coaching approach with students. This helps with setting and achieving musical milestones, whether that is an exam, a performance or the satisfaction of being able to play a favourite piece. Coaching also helps with confidence building and supporting performers with presenting their best selves on stage. As well as helping regular pupils, I offer short confidence-building packages for performers of all ages.. Interested? Get in touch!

Professional DevelopmentI take my professional development very seriously and continue weekly lessons with my own violin teacher. I practise scales, arpeggios and double stopping exercises as well as all of the fun pieces! I love it!
